Finding a reason, rather than an excuse

Luke Archer - Thursday, August 30, 2018

It was 5:30am.

It was dark.

It was pouring with rain.

I dragged myself out of bed and walked the hallway to my daughters' room, where my kids and wife were nestled, peacefully.

"What are we going to do?" I asked my wife.

It was the morning of the Bridge to Brisbane, and we were entered to run/walk.

The kids were coming with us, too.

As much as I wanted to go along, I didn't think it would be wise to take the kids into the rain.

But I'd promised some friends I'd participate this year, too!

What to do?

Well, we made the decision to go - I thought if the rain got really bad, we could always come home - and I'm so glad we did!

It was a great morning, and so good for the kids to be involved in such a great event.

Plus, I felt good that I followed through on my word.

So, as tricky as the decision was initially, we were able to move past our excuses and find some motivating reasons to get up and get moving.

A pretty valuable skill to have in life, right?

That's what this week's Transformation Tip is all about!
